An orphaned sun bear cub found in Laos is soon to be on her way to her new home, thanks to the animal rescue charity Free the Bears Fund. Videos of the caged cub were shared by the Free the Bears Fund on Facebook, including an update on December 3. “She’s not in great shape and we can’t wait to get her back to our sanctuary,” wrote the rescue organization. The videos showed that the bear was malnourished though still eating. The fund said the bear’s apparent age was six months, though its size was that of a cub half that age. The cub will become the fund’s first sun bear, they said, and will join over 50 rescued moon bears. Credit: Free the Bears Fund via Storyful
